The project Comenius is called Hands across Europe. Over the three year duration of the project we aim to learn about each other's societies and cultures and hopefully, at its conclusion we will have become more knowledgeable citizens.
Pupils are involved in the project work and are strongly supported by staff and the sixth form committee. Our themes for this year are the family structure and citizenship.
The project will engage the pupils' interest in local history, geography, politics and communities and will examine the changes that our societies have undergone before and within the context of an expanding European Union. The project work is symbolised by the title HANDS ACROSS EUROPE. Throughout its duration the project will make use of new technologies.

Conscious of the necessity to promote the sense of European citizenship through mutual knowledge, acquaintance and respect between all European countries, of the importance school education assumes in this context from primary to secondary level and the imprinting pupils receive from teachers and school books, the project partners propose RESEARCHES about our current SCHOOL BOOKS
(national languages and literatures, ancient languages and literatures, English-French-German languages and literatures, World literature, History, Geography, Civic Education, Art, Economics and Business):
a) in what occasions/contexts do they deal with Europe and our European partners
b) how do they deal with those issues (positively and negatively)?
c) what ideas/images/stereotypes about the European nations and ?national characters? do they present?
d) how and in what contexts do they offer a global approach to Europe and a European dimension in education?
e) how should we correct our school books, how could we make them better?

Thanks our many years long cultural activities our school resolved to invite many guests to visit our region. These multilateral meetings made changes in our community, by understanding the result of these actions.
